1. User Interface
It is about understanding the program interface, which includes:
CommandManager (Command toolbar): The main bar that groups commands (e.g. Sketch, Features, Evaluate).
FeatureManager Design Tree: The left side shows the structure of the entire model, from the reference planes (Front, Top, Right Plane) to the feature creation steps.
Graphics Area: The main workspace for creating and displaying 3D models.
Menus and Toolbars: Location of additional commands such as File, Edit, View, and hidden toolbars.
2. Settings
Proper settings will ensure smooth and standardized operation:
Units Setting (Units): Select the standard units of measurement for the workpiece (e.g., millimeters, grams, seconds - MMGS or inches, pounds, seconds - IPS).
System Options Settings: Customize display, performance, and program backups.
Document Properties Settings: Set specific standards for the current file, such as Drawing Standards or shape resolution.
3. Essential Basic Tools
The main tools used to create 3D objects consist of two main parts:
2D Sketch Tools:
Line, Circle, Rectangle: Basic shape drawing tools
Smart Dimension: An essential tool for sizing and controlling shapes.
Trim Entities/Extend Entities: Tools for cutting and extending sketch lines.
3D Feature Tools:
Extrude Boss/Base: Create 3D shapes by extruding the sketch to make it thicker.
Extrude Cut: Cut or punch out shapes from a workpiece.
Fillet/Chamfer: Removing curved corners (fillet) or straight corners (chamfer) to decorate the edge of a workpiece.
